I read an article about someone contesting their DUI because there was no legal definition of a "lane." So, he shouldn't have been pulled over because there was no way to prove that he was drifting out of a "lane" that wasn't clearly defined.
Why our we bothering with arguing over stupid definitions when the justice system is supposed to be deciding if they were guilty? Why do cases get dismissed over little technicalities instead of truly being evaluated for truth? Why can't people just accept responsibility for their dumb decisions? I understand there needs to be due process, privacy, etc. However, since when did the state need to establish a legal definition of a lane? Can't Webster's do just fine?
I also don't like that one person (aka "The Judge") has so much power. Why does that one person get to decide the fate of millions? Who made them the source of all wisdom? I understand the majority is not always right, but usually the majority of people want what's best for their community.
