For those of you who don't know me, I hate to spend money. I'm a tightwad. I really have to convince myself that the money I'm spending is worth what I'm getting. So, on that note, you might have an idea where I'm coming from.
Last year, my sister and brother-in-law went to Disneyland. Just the two of them. Without kids. Alone. Doesn't that sound FUN!!!!! So, Scott and I have been talking about doing that as well.
Then, my parents and that same family went to DisneyWORLD. They loved it. Now, they think Scott and I should go. Scott (who has been twice) also thinks we should go. My mom has basically volunteered to babysit by encouraging us to go. They say we deserve it after a hard year adjusting to having twins. (Perhaps. Everyone has hard times in life.) My sister says we should especially go because we didn't go on a honeymoon. (7 years later still counts?)
Now, you can't go to Disneyworld in 2-3 days like you can Disneyland. So, Scott would have to take a full week off work. Plus, it costs more. Plus, we have to fly and can't drive.
So, it will cost a lot more. But, it would be a lot of fun. What's your vote?
(The resulting tally does NOT decide what we will do :) )

If your mom is offering to babysit let her!!! :) Disney World is so fun, plus you get Epcot Center which is fabulous!!!! I say Disney World, but should I also admit that I have never been to Disney Land. Which ever you do have fun!!!
I'm a Disneyland fan myself, but only because I don't like the humidity AT ALL.
Do something for yourself and Scott. Take the week and go to DisneyWorld. It will be worth the time and money you invest.
Disney World!
do you have to leave now? the summer is the busy season. my vote is as follows: DEFINITELY go for a week, to either one. and if you can do it in fall/winter when crowds die down, even better (you get in free on your birthday...in december:)
No, we wouldn't go now. We would go in the fall. I want to go the week of my birthday. So, Chris you're right on. I want to go when they have the Christmas decorations, because I think they add to the atmosphere.
Take the plunge - you deserve it. You NEVER spend money on anything.
Okay, being said sister (who went to Disneyland with husband and NO KIDS! and then who also went to DisneyWORLD), I vote GO TO DISNEYWORLD!!!!! Yes, Scott will have to take a week off of work, however, after having twins, you'll need at least a week anyway to feel like "yourself" again anyway. Being a tightwad myself, Disneyworld is TOTALLY worth the investment!!!! It's cheaper than therapy! :-) Call it a much needed/overdue honeymoon/break from the kids/bonding time with hubby/recovery from twins trip. If you tried to do all those things separately, it would cost you 3 times as much! :-) And, if you go in the off-season, not at peak season when we went, you would "save" money (kind of like when you buy something 50% off, you're saving money...), you won't have humidity, and you won't have the huge crowds. It's so much fun! You'll go, and then, you'll want to go back with your kids because you had so much fun that you'll want to take your kids, even though it will cost more. Rah, rah, rah, go, go, go!!!
Are you kidding? Go, go!! I think you would absolutely love DisneyWorld!
Looks like the family has voted for you to go to Disney World! Take the plunge and do it!
I vote for Hawaii!!
Do it Do it Do it! Florida is so much fun! I like DisneyWorld, but honestly I hate the lines. I agree with Melissa above me, you should go to Hawaii for a week! Or maybe even better- There are some killer deals on cruises in the fall when the cruise ships are moving back to winter cruise spots from their summer cruise spots. Does that make sense? Krista Frederico and her husband just went on a cruise for about 400 a person- that includes Food! for 6 days! You should ask her about it! Shes a great vacation deal finder.
Regardless of where you go, you deserve a vacation!! :)
Being from California and having my uncle work for Disney, we went to Disneyland all the time for free and even went on our honeymoon. I can tell you that it's not as much fun as when you were a kid. Disneyworld, on the other hand, has lots more to see and do, so that is my vote. Plus you get extra time, so why not milk it for all it's worth? Have fun!
