I've decided I'm pretty hypocritical when it comes to certain words. I've always felt comfortable with when to use their/there/they're and your/you're and its/it's. I get annoyed when people use them incorrectly. It seems like it should be so obvious!
However, I'm still not entirely sure when to use lay/lie and raise/rise in the present and past. Ho hum. I guess I ought to learn...

Sorry to be such a weird stalker person. A friend sent me a link to your blog because I have 6 month old boy/girl twins (we found out at 10 weeks along, so at least we were a little bit prepared). It is so much fun. At least you already have kids and know what you're doing. I had no idea!
Anyway, I also HATE when people make obvious grammatical errors. I don't know why, but I do. And also, I didn't get the difference between the two, so I asked my super-proper grandma to explain. You, yourself lie down. You lay something else down. Ex: Every morning, I lay the kids down for a nap, and then I lie down for a nap myself.
I'm still in shock about your sweet surprise. I'm sure you wish you had had time to prepare, but let me tell you, there is no way to prepare for twins. It is such a blast. There is such a sweet spirit that comes along with twins. Good luck!!!
