Richard finally lost a tooth. In fact, he lost two teeth. He's so excited! He's about the oldest in his grade, and yet he's one of the last to lose a tooth. I guess at that age you start to notice developmental milestones. A couple of days ago he was wiggling his tooth quite a bit when I went to help him brush his teeth after breakfast. He asked if I would pull it out, and so I gave it a good yank and out it popped! The other tooth on the bottom was also loose, but he didn't want me to try that one. I did try to pull it out at noon, but it wouldn't come. Then, late in the afternoon, he asked me to try again. I pulled and I felt a pop as I loosened it quite a bit. Then, I gave it one more yank and out came the second tooth. This one bled quite a bit more since it wasn't as ready to come out. He was so pleased!
He insisted we write a note to the tooth fairy to let her know he wanted to keep his teeth. I tried to tell him that I had an in with the tooth fairy, but he was not to be swayed. "You'll be asleep when she comes!" So, we wrote a note.
He even brought his teeth to my parent's house so he could show them.
