This woman looked at me as we shuffled shopping carts and kids and noticed Audrey, Peter in the shopping cart, and Marie in the Baby Bjorn. She said, "Are these all yours?"
I'm thinking, "Duh, of course they're all mine! Do you think I just pick up babies to bring to the store because it's fun!" I said, politely, "Yes, they're all mine."
She said, "How does that work?"
I'm thinking, "What do you mean? I pushed them all out and so therefore they're mine."
I said, "Well, I had twins."
She said, "You don't mean these two?" pointing to Audrey and Peter.
I'm thinking, "What?! Are you kidding me?!"
I say, "No, these two," pointing to Marie and Peter.
She says, "Oh, but he's so much bigger!"
I'm thinking, "Yea, but he's a lot closer in size to Marie than to Audrey! Are you stupid?!"
I smile and go on my way. Whatever.

That is too funny! I love the comment about "are all these yours?" Like ANYONE would go shopping with 4 kids that were not theirs just for the heck of it. Such a good story.
thats really funny. You totally need to come up with something to say when people ask you. something really funny.
some people have no common sense, its so frustrating for those of us that do!!! And I love the fact that she said "are these ALL yours" like 3 (since richard wasn't with you) is tons or something, although I will admit some days 3 feels like tons. :) I hate that "are these all yours" comment as much as I hate it when people tell me "oh wow, you sure have your hands full", someone told me that at church. I wanted to smack him, too bad that isn't allowed.
What a moron! Yes, a 9 month old looks much closer to a 2 year old than another 9 month old.
And since you're just taking random kids shopping with you, you can take mine, too!
