So, instead of going out, I guess I will have all afternoon to make a more involved dinner! Fun for the family! Any suggestions of fun things to do with a toddler and preschooler? We currently play games, play outside, play at the park, cook, color, stack dominoes, play with toys, and read books. Any other great ideas since I'm doing my best to limit time in the car?

Walking...in another way
Scott and I have decided we need to start walking as much as possible. So, that's not that often, but we walked to church today. It only takes about 10 minutes, and so it's definitely doable. I'm also going to hopefully only run errands 1-2 times a week instead of every day like I used to. I would go out every day just because it can get a little boring here at home. We're really hoping to see a decrease in the amount of gas we need for the van. We won't make much change in the car, because Scott can't very well walk to work. Neither can I. However, hopefully these other efforts will help.

Hey there! Understand about the limiting the car use thing. We were stoaked when we only filled up each car once this month!!!
I love this blog. I don't use it much now since we don't have kids, but I still love looking at it. Lots of ideas of fun for family and kids! http://www.makeandtakes.com/
Enjoy!
familyfun.com has some great ideas and you can pick ideas based on the age of your child.
My sister in law just reccomended this

Enjoy!
I know what you mean:) It can get a little boring. kaylee has done some painting here and there and she likes play dough, where she gets to use a bunch of my cooking tools and cookie cutters.
I'm not really inventive with play ideas, but my friend also put some cool whip out on some wax paper and let them make designs and get messy:)
