Audrey's dance recital

Audrey had her dance recital. She was so cute! She's improved so much over the past year. I'm sure most of it has to do with one years more growth and coordination. When you are only 4, 1 year makes a huge difference in that area. However, she basically did everything when she was supposed to and how she was supposed to. I was very proud of her!
She was supposed to wear quite a bit of makeup. I was thrilled when I was finished putting it on and she said, "I don't like looking like that." Great! Now I don't have to worry about her begging to wear make-up all the time.

She even did facial expressions like she was supposed to. I was never good about that. She was just adorable!

t-ball

Richard is playing t-ball this spring. He really seems to enjoy it. I think it looks a lot like soccer with a small ball. A ball is hit into the outfield and a bunch of 6-year-olds go running after the ball with no regard to working together. It's pretty funny! Hopefully they start to figure out how to stay in their position and work together. If nothing else, Richard is having fun and has some exposure to baseball.

I really like that the coaches get directly involved and actually try to teach them some technique and such. His soccer coaches have always just put them on the field and said, "Kick it into the goal" with no guidance or anything.

End of the year

Both Richard and Audrey had end of the year programs. It was fun to hear the songs they've learned and support them.

Audrey is excited to go to preschool again, because her best friend will be in her class next year. I wish she could go to kindergarten. Alas, the deadline prohibits that.

Richard is excited to move on to 1st grade. Hopefully he likes his teacher in 1st grade as much as he liked his kindergarten teacher. I'm excited to have him at school for a few hours longer.

Soccer

Richard scored two goal tonight! He had a close one that bounced off the post and another that the goalie blocked. He's become a lot more assertive about getting the ball. He's one of the more active and aggressive players on the team. It's so fun to watch! I'm so proud of his progress! I am so pleased that he didn't get my coordination (meaning the lack thereof).

We celebrated Easter!

We had a lesson on Monday before Easter to emphasize that Easter is about Christ, the atonement, and the resurrection. I am so grateful for my Savior! I'm grateful for the chance to do as we teach our children--Say I'm sorry and try again. What a blessing the knowledge of the Gospel is!

We decorated eggs later that night.
On Saturday before Easter, we had an Easter egg hunt in the yards of some friends. We all decided the city hunt was overcrowded and crazy and not worth the effort. We put together a hunt for our kids. They had a great time! They got quite a bit more than they would have with the city and didn't have the same madness.

On Sunday, the kids got their baskets. I give them simple baskets. They each had a book and a bubble set. They all got plenty of candy.
Yes, Audrey's hair always looks this awesome in the morning.
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter! What a blessing it is to be forgiven of our sins so that we can be clean and pure and live with our Savior again!

soccer

Richard is playing spring soccer. Let's just say it's a lot colder than falls soccer! He's having a great time and learning to be more assertive. He doesn't just chase the group of kids but is learning to get the ball and kick it down the field.
