Dancing

Audrey had her dance recital. I was really worried she would get scared and not perform. She's shy like that. However, she did a great job! She was SO cute! She had the coordination of a three-year-old, which is to be expected. However, she did the very best she could. I was so pleased with her performance I couldn't help but smile! As a bribe, I told her I would make scotcharoos if she danced. So, after we got home, I made a batch.
I've tried to upload pictures of her dancing, but it won't work for some reason.

New stuff

We got a grill! We're excited to finally grill food for real instead of on an electric grill. We've already broken it in. Now if only the weather would cooperate so it's more pleasant to be outside..

Also, we bought a new table! We've been using a hand-me-down from my sister that we got 7 years ago. It's about 3x5 feet and only fits four people. However, we have six in the family and Peter and Marie are not always thrilled about being demoted to their high chairs at meal time. Our neighbors got a table from one of their parents, and they said they'd sell it to us. It's in really great condition and is very solid and sturdy. It has eight chairs and four additional leaves. So, not only can our whole family fit, but we can accommodate guests as well! We can also play games more easily, because more people can fit at our table. The kids are very excited and keep trying to decide who will sit where. I like getting great stuff for a great price.

Preschool Graduation

We went to Richard's preschool for his program. He did a great job! He participated and sang. He was quite spazzy with his friend. He got to carry in the flag when they sang some patriotic songs and then he called the audience to rise for the pledge of allegiance. For those of you who have read this for an extended period of time, you may remember last year when Richard spent the whole program with his back to the audience. None of that this year! I was very proud of Richard. I'm not sure if he's sad about being done with preschool or just excited to go to kindergarten. In fact, he asked me if he could go to kindergarten tomorrow!

Happy Mothers Day

What a wonderful day to celebrate mothers! Motherhood is a wonderful blessing from Heavenly Father. We as women have the privilege of bearing and raising the special spirits of our Heavenly Father. We can become the best we can be as we go through the trials of being a mother. I know our calling as a mother is a sacred responsibility, despite the trends of the world. You can be greater, not diminished, as a mother. A child is a wonderful blessing, not a burden. Motherhood has its trials, which can make us stronger and more like Christ. I love being a mother and hope to continue to improve in my responsibilities.
My own mother is my hero. I hope to be more like her.

Majorities

How come minorities can do whatever they want on whatever days they want and no one cares? However, if someone of a majority group (ie Caucasians, Christians, etc) do something, then everyone jumps all over them?
